Murali Bukkapatnam Is TiE Global Board Chair

Hyderabad: Murali Bukkapatnam, a prominent entrepreneur and investor based in Hyderabad, has been elected as the Chair of the TiE Global Board of Trustees for the year 2025. This prestigious appointment marks a significant milestone not only for Bukkapatnam but also for the city of Hyderabad, as he assumes the helm of the world’s largest entrepreneurial network.

TiE Global (The Indus Entrepreneurs) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship by providing mentorship, networking, funding, and educational resources. The organization spans 65 cities in 15 countries, with a vibrant membership of over 10,000 entrepreneurs worldwide.

Murali Bukkapatnam, the founder and chairman of Volksy Technologies, brings a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, and investment to his new role. He has been actively mentoring startups and teaching business development at institutions such as IIT Hyderabad. Under his leadership, Volksy Technologies has supported several high-growth startups, including EHAM, a technology initiative focused on empowering women. Additionally, he played a key role in establishing the Hyderabad Angel Network, further contributing to the growth of the city's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Murali's journey with TiE spans over a decade, with his previous roles including Vice-Chair of the TiE Global Board of Trustees in 2024, as well as President of TiE Hyderabad from 2009 to 2012. His leadership has been instrumental in driving initiatives that support the entrepreneurial community both in India and globally. A graduate of Southeastern University, USA, with an MS in Computer Science, Murali has also contributed to the Indian-American community in Greater Washington before returning to India in 2008. His election to the top position at TiE Global is a proud moment for Hyderabad and a testament to his dedication to the entrepreneurial cause.
